PTA
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The PTA was formed in 1938 for the purpose of assisting in the provision of facilities in the school and to foster and extend the relationship between home and school.
At the AGM a committee is elected to represent the school in its widest sense and to organise the many and various activities planned for the year. These include discos, fun activities, the Summer Fair, the Christmas Fair and other fund raising activities.
The PTA help to finance the costs incurred by having a swimming pool and changing rooms on site. They also help the school to provide items which could not easily be paid for from our education budget. Financial support has included: funding for the development of the Nursery grounds, IT resources, teaching aids, books and furniture. The more active members we have the easier it is for the PTA to stage more events, therefore raising more money for the children in our school.
Every parent at our school is automatically a member of the PTA. This means you have a right to a say and vote on actions and decisions that affect the school and children. How involved you get is completely up to you, but attending the half termly meetings is an excellent way of finding out what is happening within the school and also an opportunity for you to put forward ideas and suggestions.
There are lots of ways that you can get involved, and we encourage you to attend events and enjoy yourself whilst raising money for the school.
Staff really do appreciate the hard work and support of parents and hope their children come to realise how much they owe to their parents enthusiastic support of our school.
