Curriculum Overview

At Malden Parochial we provide the children with a curriculum that is engaging, creative and challenging. We pride ourselves on having an outstanding staff throughout the school. Lessons are delivered from dedicated practitioners which leads to outstanding learning.

The children's needs are put firmly at the centre of our curriculum and they are encouraged to become motivated, resilient and reflective learners. To achieve this the children are exposed to a broad and balanced curriculum, where learning is both exciting and challenging.

Our Creative Curriculum includes regular themes which link through a variety of subjects, making learning more accessible for children. We promote the relevant use of technology throughout the curriculum and also use this as an effective tool in inclusion. We also offer creativity clubs which run for six weeks, twice a year. Within these children are able to learn and explore a wide range of skills which supplement the curriculum. They often involve children interacting as part of a group and becoming more independent by developing their own ideas for a particular project. Malden Parochial also runs many extra-curricular clubs which enrich the learning experience of children attending the school.

In addition to the above children are invited to participate in a wide range of sporting activities through the Local Authority, this gives the children an opportunity to compete against other schools in a variety of different sports and disciplines. We also take part in a range of non-competitive events, with local secondary schools, to develop children's skills and enjoyment of sport.
